He was raised in a family of five members. His mother is Jackie Metzger Kinsley. His two siblings are Johnny and Jillian Kinsley. His brother Johnny runs the brickwallblitz Tiktok account with 16k followers and video editor. Additionally, he co-hosts the podcast Hard Knots with Joey.

Graduated from Rocky River High School, Joey finished his bachelor’s from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2016. He was also a part of the university basketball team Battling Bishops.
After graduation, he worked in the role of digital marketing specialist at Emerge Inc. He worked in the job position for a while before losing his job during the global pandemic in 2021.

Joey Kinsley was keen on making video content even prior to losing his job. He has been active on the video platform since February 2018. Initially, he posted comedy skits before switching to sharing original music.
His first music video was of a song named Jacuzzi, released in March 2018. His Spotify account suggests that he has released a good number of singles over the years. However, he only has about two thousand monthly listeners.
As an avid American football fan, he eventually began interviewing football stars. On the other side, his short videos started going viral and he gained a few hundred thousand followers on the app in 2023.
Following this, he renamed the channel to Sir Yacht sports before renaming it again to Sir Yacht shorts. He created another self-titled channel to share long-format challenge content in early 2023. He ate only Costco hot dogs for a week in one of his earliest videos.

Sir Yacht made his TV debut in 2021
Not many people are aware but Joey actually made his TV debut with Food Network’s reality TV show Worst Cooks in America. He was a part of the Blue team but got eliminated in the third episode of the season.
He returned for the 22nd season i.e., Best of the Worst in April 2021. This time, he competed against the Blue team. Unfortunately, he was the first contestant to be eliminated.
